Yorkshire has many growers and suppliers of organic food - meat, eggs, cereals, vegetables, fruit, dairy produce and processed organic products. With a thriving population to feed and a large land area, a lot of organic produce is grown locally. Below is a list of some of our local suppliers.

Bolton Abbey Foods
The Crabtree family have farmed at Bolton Park Farm for over 50 years. They aim to provide the highest quality taste and traceability from the heart of the Yorkshire Dales to your kitchen. All the meat supplied has been either bred or reared on the farm.We've visited the farm and they seem to be very happy and well looked after animals. They supply meat to The Fleece at Addingham and The Angel at Hetton.

I's Pies/Independent Foods (IF)
I's Pies, quiches and tarts are handmade from only the finest Yorkshire ingredients - delicious. There are no artificial ingredients and everything is GM free, they are something to write home about!

Rebori
Family company that was established in 2002 by popular demand of Armand Walker's friends and family who had tasted her delicious dressings. The Rebori name originates from Armanda's grandmother who created the original dressing 85 years ago.

Hills Fine Foods
A small family business supplying cheese and delicatessen products. They have many years experience in the food business, Adrian was previously a cheesemaker at Settle Creamery and his wife Pam a chef at a local Inn. They have a strong emphasis on sourcing local and regional produce.

Acorn Dairies
The Tweddle family run an organic farm therefore the welfare of their dairy cows is very important. The milk, cream and butter they produce has a very natural flavour as it goes through only minimal processing.

Yockenthwaite Farm Bakery
Based in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Elizabeth and Stuart Hird make delicious granola cereals. Tried and tested on their B&B guests, who incidentally, love it. The granola is made with freshly milled grains and toasted in Yorkshire honey. Eat as a breakfast cereal with milk, fruit or yoghurt or alternatively as a snack.

Ian Taylor Free Range Eggs
The family farm at Burton Leonard near Harrogate and started their free range egg business in 1996. The eggs taste fantastic and the yolks are a lovely shade of orange, just like the eggs we used to get from our hens years ago.

Rosebud Preserves
Elspeth Biltoft has been making delicious handmade preserves and chutneys since 1989. Each jar contains generous quantities of fresh seasonal ingredients,organic and wherever possible local produce, prepared by hand in small batches without additives, preservatives or colourings.

This is our local honey producer. He is based 2 miles from Crimple Valley Fresh. So if there are any hayfever sufferers in south Harrogate this is ideal. Of course if you don't have hayfever you can buy it just for the lovely taste!

Wharfe Valley Farms
Rapeseed oil has the lowest saturated fat of any oil and is also high in Omega 3. For all those of you who are health conscious, this product is for you. It is also suitable for gluten free and vegetarian diets. The rapeseed oil is grown and produced on the family run farm. Its fans even include a few celebrity chefs!

Stamfrey Farm Organic Products
Sue and Angus farm 110 friesian cows on an organic farm at West Rounton and make very indulgent Yorkshire clotted cream, and lovely low fat yoghurt which you can add delicious fruit coulis to. The cream graces the tables in Betty's.

For those people with coeliac disease, you don't have to miss out on delicious treats, such as cakes, pies and pastries. These recipies are baked for people on restricted diets and are gluten free and wheat free, there are also dairy free recipies and some are even egg free.

The most delicious and award winning smoked fish, meat and cheeses are provided by this company. They have been in business for 20 years and their range of smoked products has grown throughout the years. Stonegate Farm Dairy
A family run business that supplies us with natural ewes milk, cheeses and yoghurts. These are seasonal products and can only be supplied from Feb to September (during and after lambing) but they are worth the wait! They can be consumed by those who are intolerant of cows milk.
